St. Bedes School

Warner Contracting Ltd were selected to complete the roofing works at St Bedes School.

Thomson, Roddick and Laurie Architects designed a purpose built unit for three classrooms and washrooms which met all the requirements for ‘Early Years Education’. The building has already been noted as both a ‘flagship design’ and a template for future school buildings. The design allows for cross flow ventilation and bright airy class room spaces with overhanging roofs to prevent solar gain.

The build was constructed using timber frame and cladding to facilitate prompt completion; insulated to a high spec and heated by air source pumps, all adding to greener credentials with the Building achieving almost an ‘A’ energy rating.

The single ply membrane was fully adhered to the roof deck, terminating with pre-laminated drip trims to the perimeter, providing a high performing and contemporary roof finish.
